They're not Pearl, but...

This section contains information about the horses that are not pearl (nor champagne!) but still figured prominently into the discovery of the pearl gene.  Links below.

The sire of Majodero who was suspected of being "ivory champagne" by some of us newbies, but turned out to be a double-cream.  Contributed the cream gene which, along with Chica's pearl gene, gave Majodero his unusual, "magical" coloring (smoky black pearl). Son and grandson of Umbaba, out of Nespera.

Son of Umbaba out of Epocha, this cremello stallion provided the cream gene for several of the known cream pearls in the US, including Guindaleza.

This strikingly dark palomino stallion is the sire of both Q and Saphiro and the grandsire of Q and Guindaleza.  Last known to be living in Bavaria.

Daughter of Umbaba out of Epocha, this mare was the dam of Q, and thus the granddam of Majodero.

Dam of Nespera and Saphiro.
